Psychic Awareness Begins With Awareness

Monday, December 8th, 2008

It would seem elementary that one must first develop inner awareness in order to increase psychic ability. Yet many of us are so caught up in the constant stream of thought that makes up our daily life that we have become deaf to that inner voice.

How many times have you been driving, so engrossed in what you had to do at work, what to fix the kids for dinner, who you had to call that day — that you only see the car pull out in front of you just in time to slam on the brakes? The other car was not even in your awareness until your survival instincts brought it to your attention. This is just one example of how we block out our inner selves from our consciouss awareness. Can you think of others?

To become attuned to our psychic senses, we must first foster inner stillness. The intuitive or psychic voice does not scream at us above the chaos. Rather it whispers and waits patiently for us to listen. Therefore we must learn to focus inward and quiet the outer noise. For some meditation is an excellent way to achieve this receptive inner state. For others spending some time alone in nature is perfect.

Whatever tool you choose to enhance your inner stillness, you must practice it consistently and patiently. Always keep bringing yourself back to that calm, peaceful state whenever you forget or your mind wanders. With time, you will grow increasingly able to recognize your psychic whispers and be open to this expanded new world of information that is available to you.

Premonition Or Manifestation

Monday, May 26th, 2008

Have you ever wondered if there is a fine line between having intuition about a coming event and manifesting the event with your intentions? This could be one of the great paradoxes of psychic awareness study.

Is there really a difference in seeing something before it happens and causing it to happen by seeing it? The answer, of course, depends on how far you want to go in terms of philosophical thought.

It’s probably enough to pose the question and allow your mind to flow freely thereafter.

We do have considerable power over our own destiny. Many of us even believe that we create our entire reality via thought and consciousness; within such a paradigm the idea of psychic awareness takes on a whole new meaning.

If there is no “out there”, I really can’t have a premonition. All I can do is project my own thought and then experience the manifestation of this thought.

This is definitely a topic I’ll write more on later. For now it’s enough to just put the idea forward and let it flow.

Trust Your Inner Voice

Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

The first step in developing your innate psychic ability is the development of real self-trust. You must form the habit of trusting your internal voice.

This is easy for some people, and difficult for others.

Also, you should know this is a process. To start, you only need to begin listening for your intuitive responses to life’s situations. A great exercise is to start asking yourself questions on a regular basis.

Ask yourself things like “what should I do?”, “why did I just think that?”, “what am I really afraid of here?” etc. In time, you’ll begin to notice the subtle response that occurs to such questions almost immediately.

Most of the time, your intuitive response is the first impulse. The only time when this is not true is when you suffer from extreme fear or neurosis in some area, and thus your first response will be a fear-based reflex action.

Once you can identify your intuition, the next step is to begin trusting it. Again, this can take time as your natural desire might be to overthink and analyze every question or situation.

Don’t beomce impatient, and don’t compare yourself to others. If you put forth a sincere effort, you will begin to trust your inner voice over time.

This is the most basic form of psychic ability or psychic awareness.
